Listed below are the current varieties grown by NG Turf as well a brief description of the characteristics. Customers are always welcome, and encouraged, to visit the farm to see the different grasses before making a selection. Please call ahead to confirm operation and variety availability.
NG Turf guarantees “spring time green up” on any warm season turf that is installed during its dormant period.
Bermuda – Warm season turf that requires full sun. It is creeping grass with a fast growth rate, good recovery from traffic, and a high degree of maintenance. Dormant in winter months. Typical uses: landscapes (residential and commercial), golf courses, athletic fields

Tifway (419) – (AVAILABLE NOW) Blue tag certified hybrid. Original standard in the market. Has excellent weed and disease resistance. Tifway has a dark green color. Used for home lawns, fairways, tees, and athletic fields |

Tifsport – (AVAILABLE NOW) Blue tag certified hybrid. A new and improved Bermudagrass with superior cold hardiness with a slightly finer leaf texture than Tifway. TifSport provides a high-density grass that can be mowed as low as ½ inch or at a height of 1-1/4 inches. Excellent recovery from traffic with a higher tensile strength. TifSport has also shown a mole cricket non-preference in side-by-side comparisons to Tifway. |

Patriot – (AVAILABLE NOW)
New Bermudagrass variety from the Agricultural Experiment Station, Oklahoma State University. High quality turf with texture similar to Tifway (419), good density and dark green color. Tested and found to be very cold tolerant with superior recovery from traffic. Excellent choice for golf course construction to provide contrast, texture and color. Superior selection for athletic fields as well as residential and commercial applications. Submission made for GCIA blue tag certification. |

Zoysia - Does well in full sun but can tolerate shade. Minimum sunlight 5 hours per day. Creeping grass with a slow growth rate, good recovery from traffic, and a medium degree of maintenance. Dormant in winter months. Typical uses: Affluent golf courses and landscapes (residential and commercial)

El Toro - (AVAILABLE NOW) Patented variety. Medium to coarse textured. 'El Toro' grows well in both sun and shade and is very resistant to traffic. 'El Toro' has been tested to be very drought tolerant. It also is very easy to mow with a rotary mower. 'El Toro' also produces little or no thatch and is disease resistant. 'El Toro' is excellent for home lawns and golf courses.

JaMur –(AVAILABLE NOW) Blue tag certified hybrid. JaMur is a medium to coarse textured zoysia with an attractive blue-green color and characterized as extremely compact turf with a superior rate of spread and exceptional regrowth. It has excellent recovery characteristics and is the most drought tolerant zoysiagrass. JaMur has shown to produce less thatch than all other zoysia varieties. |

Meyer (Z52) – (AVAILABLE NOW) Blue tag certified hybrid. The original standard in the market. It has medium leaf texture and good cold tolerance. This is the zoysia often advertised as the "super" grass in newspapers and magazines and is used more often than any other zoysiagrass. |

Zeon – (AVAILABLE NOW) Blue tag certified hybrid. Zeon is a new variety that is fast becoming one of the most popular zoysias on the market. Zeon is similar to Emerald in appearance with a fine bladed leaf texture. It is also very shade tolerant and unlike Emerald, Zeon does not have a prickly feel. Produced less thatch than other zoysia varieties except JaMur. |

Centipede - Requires slightly less sun than Bermuda, creeping grass, slow growing, minimal fertilization and performs well in acid soils. Soil test recommended before fertilization. Requires least amount of maintenance. Dormant in winter months.

TifBlair – (AVAILABLE NOW) Blue tag certified hybrid. TifBlair is a new improved variety of Centipede. It is the first ever certified Centipede on the market. TifBlair is more cold and drought tolerant and has a root system that is 2-3 times larger than common centipede.
Available in sod and certified seed.
